STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:

Prepare:

    • Gather all your equipment.
    • Place a filter in the cap and rinse thoroughly with hot water.
    • Heat your brewing water to 97°C.

Grind Coffee:

    • Grind 12g of coffee to a medium grind (similar to caster sugar).

Grinding Tip: For a hand grinder, start with the burrs tightest and unwind 3-4 clicks.

Brew:

    • Invert the AeroPress (wide ends on top and bottom, cap facing up).
    • Add 12g of ground coffee to the brew chamber.
    • Place the AeroPress on the scales and tare (reset to zero).
    • Start your timer (if using).
    • Pour 200g of hot water over the coffee in a circular motion.
    • Stir gently five times to ensure all grounds are wet.
    • Screw the cap onto the top of the AeroPress.
    • At 1:45, carefully flip the AeroPress onto your mug or server.
    • At 2:00, press down firmly and steadily on the plunger.
    • Continue pressing until you hear a hissing sound (this should take around 20-30 seconds).

Adjust Grind Size:

  • If brewing time exceeds 30 seconds: Grind coarser.
  • If brewing time is less than 30 seconds: Grind finer.

Enjoy:

  • Allow the coffee to cool slightly if desired.
  • Add milk (if using) and enjoy!

Notes:

  • Accurate measurements are crucial for consistent results.
  • Experiment with grind size and brewing time to find your preferred flavor profile.
  • Clean the AeroPress immediately after use for easy maintenance.
